Figuring Out Finger Food

Lately Audrey and I have been working on how to get food from her fingers into her mouth. She mastered holding a spoon and feeding herself months ago. She puts every single toy, phone, remote control, sock, you name it, into her mouth. Yet for some reason if I place tiny bits of finger food on her high-chair tray she will play with it all day long, but without my help, it doesn’t make it to her mouth. How is it that food is the only thing she won’t put in her mouth!? Regardless, we are having fun and experimenting with new and different foods to try. Steamed vegetables, cut up fruit, little pieces of cheese or bite-sized pieces of what I’m eating have topped the list. Given the newfound lemon addiction mentioned yesterday, I know she’s on the cusp of something. Until then, I get to enjoy watching her playfully figure it all out.
