Well, it’s been a long couple of months. In the best and most exhausting kind of way. Baby sister Emme is now 8 weeks old and I have slowly returned to cooking. Albeit cooking these days feels like I’m on a reality cooking show where the challenge is to make a meal as fast as you can with a 2-year old running around and a baby strapped to your chest. My best plan of attack: involve Audrey as much as I can. This GuideCraft Kitchen Helper Stand is my answer. A safe and stable step-stool of sorts, it allows her to participate in kitchen activities typically out-of-reach. It’s sturdy, has railings on all four sides, fits flush against the counter/island, folds easily for storage and looks cute. It also features fun cutouts and a wipe-off marker & chalkboard. Now, whether she is helping me unload groceries, prepare food, measure ingredients or just watching how things get done, she can be part of the action she so desires. As she likes to say, she’s part of my “team”. We have fun, she is learning even more about food, and it gives me the time I desperately need to get things done in the kitchen. Now if they only had something similar that could hold and rock a newborn.
