Pre-Dinner “Salad”

Pre-Dinner Salad: This is a new thing I’ve started with Audrey over the last month or so. Every night while I prepare dinner, she has her “salad”. Better known as me cutting up little pieces of raw vegetables for her to snack on while I cook. It keeps her occupied, curious, and feeling like she’s part of the action… while I can actually get some work done. More importantly, it’s a nice way to get her in the habit of eating pure unadulterated vegetables without worry that she’ll fill up on something unhealthy before dinner. The best and easiest are cherry tomatoes, sliced red peppers, radishes and peeled cucumbers. I’m by no means reinventing the wheel here, but I can’t help but love this little tradition we’re starting.
